Internet
Training Project
In October, 1997, volunteers
of Tech Corps Wisconsin conducted a week's worth of open houses designed
to instruct local teachers on usage of the Internet. Teachers used a
training lab of eight computers, supplied by sponsor Root Communications,
LLC., with a high-speed Internet connection and the Web/Teacher tutorial
program as well as a lesson plan database. The teachers learned how
to use browser software and then navigate the web in search of curriculum
materials. Approximately fifty public and private school teachers attended.
