Gifford Elementary School Racine, WI 1 -- Wiring Project   On 16 November, 1996, Tech Corps WI volunteers in conjunction with school district employees, administrators, and school board members, wired all forty classrooms at Gifford Elementary School for network and telephone. Tech Corps WI wired five classrooms, the library and the computer lab for network connection to the library Internet/Intranet Server, providing Internet materials for classroom curriculum. Gifford Elementary School Pictures 2 -- Library Laptop Loan Project   In September, 1997, Tech Corps Wisconsin provided six laptop computers to the Gifford Elementary School Library for student checkout.   The school will make five of these available for student overnight checkout and use one for administration/backup.   The program will be co-coordinated and administered by the Gifford librarian and a Gifford teacher.  This is a pilot program to determine if this idea can be successfully applied in an elementary school setting using refurbished donated computers.
