Tech Corps Wisconsin,
Inc. is pleased to announce the latest effort in its continued support
of children in the state and specifically within the Southeast Wisconsin
area with the announcement of a project for Burlington's Winkler Elementary
School.
"We are helping the school with this project by supplying
thirty-five complete donated computer systems and one laser printer
refurbished by our group, to be placed into one computer lab, and
into the ten classrooms. We will network the existing and new classroom
computers and will also add network wire to the computer lab,"
said Michael Pitsch--State Coordinator for Tech Corps Wisconsin, Inc.
March 3, is the target date for the installation of the computers
at the recently constructed school.
The computers will be used for word processing, Internet research
and for other curricular purposes. The classroom computers and the
computer lab will be connected to the Internet, via recently installed
district network wiring and equipment.
This project is a continued experiment in re-defining how education
is delivered to our children, wherever they are, to better prepare
them to meet the challenges of their futures. The collaborative nature
of the project includes a number of public and private businesses
throughout SE Wisconsin who provided the donations and the volunteers
who are completing the work.
"We are pleased to have been asked to participate in this venture
to help make a difference in the futures of our children," said Pitsch.
