COMMUNICATION RELEASE
Tech Corps Wisconsin, Inc. (TCW) is pleased to
announce the latest effort in its continued support of children and families in
the state with the announcement of a new business training initiative.
At Tech Corps Wisconsin, we are a non-profit
volunteer group in the business of providing access to computer technology for
those who traditionally do not have access. We serve schools of all kinds,
non-profit agencies working with children and low income families. This service
includes using volunteers and staff to provide refurbished computer systems,
training, support and Internet access to these clients.
As an outflow of this work, we have capacity,
capability and desire to provide these types of programs to businesses which we
would normally not serve. This initiative is intended to allow us to further reduce
the worldwide digital divide and generate additional funding to support some of
our local charitable works, which are not currently funded. TCW is seeking to further expand in this area
and has previously provided this type of training program to another local
non-profit, Society’s Assets, Inc.
Through a joint arrangement with Family Service of
Racine, Inc., a Racine-based non-profit, we have
developed training classes on several Microsoft Office applications including:
Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and basic Internet Use. Classes Began May 6th and will
continue through June 3rd.
This training program will help us to better serve our
customers and improve the efficiency of our employees” said Eric Rautenberg, Executive
Director of Family Service. “TCW has a great track record of providing these
types of programs, making a difference in our community, and is a very
cost-effective local provider these services”, he added.
