Tech Corps Wisconsin,
Inc. is pleased to announce the latest effort in its continued support
of children in the state and specifically within the Southeast Wisconsin
area with the announcement of a project for Burlington's Southern
Lakes Alternative High School.
"We are helping the school with this project by supplying thirty
complete donated computer systems, a network server and one laser
printer refurbished by our group, to be placed into a computer lab
allowing the existing computers to be placed into the classrooms.
We will also help with the network in the computer lab by supplying
some components" said Michael Pitsch--State Coordinator for Tech Corps
Wisconsin, Inc. April 14, is the target date for the installation
of the computers at the former Burlington High School secondary building.
The computers will
be used for word processing, Internet research and for other curricular
purposes. The classroom computers and the computer lab will be connected
to the Internet, via an existing broad-band connection.
This project is a
continued experiment in re-defining how education is delivered to
our children, wherever they are, to better prepare them to meet the
challenges of their futures. The collaborative nature of the project
includes a number of public and private businesses throughout SE Wisconsin
who provided the donations and the volunteers who are completing the
work.
"We are pleased to have been asked to participate in this venture
to help make a difference in the futures of our children," said Pitsch.
