Tech Corps Wisconsin,
Inc. is pleased to announce the latest effort in its continued support
of children in the state and specifically within the Southeast Wisconsin
area with the announcement of a project for First Evangelical Lutheran
Church and School.
"We are helping the school with this project by supplying sixteen
complete donated computer systems, refurbished by our group, and network
hubs to be placed into the classrooms. We will also network wire the
classrooms," said Michael Pitsch, State Coordinator for Tech Corps
Wisconsin, Inc. February 3, was the target date for the installation
of the computers at the small private school in Lake Geneva.
The computers will
be used for teaching reading, word processing, teaching keyboarding,
and Internet research as well as for other curricular purposes. The
classroom computers will be connected to the network and Internet
at a later date.
This project is a
continued experiment in re-defining how education is delivered to
our children, wherever they are, to better prepare them to meet the
challenges of their futures. The collaborative nature of the project
includes a number of public and private businesses throughout SE Wisconsin
who provided the donations and the volunteers who are completing the
work.
"We are pleased to have been asked to participate in this venture
to help make a difference in the futures of our children," said Pitsch.
